He talks at length about the Washingtonians, the Oxford Group, Roland Hazard, Ebby Thatcher and other people and things related to the spiritual History of Alcoholics Anonymous. This talk is a great overview of this subject which would be of great benefit to anyone wanting an introduction to the roots of AAs Spirituality. He points out that long before Jim Burwell insisted on (God) as we understood Him be included in the steps Ebby Thatcher told Bill Wilson "Why don't you choose your own conception of God?"(Big Book Page12) Towards the end of the talk he gets on the subject of the Spirituality of imperfection and talks at length about working the AA program. Mostly developing a sane and reasonable practice of spiritual principles. Great for someone who fears that any Higher Power must be unreasonably demanding. Good spiritual advice based on long experience(Sandy has been sober since 1964).
